Talking about Hong Kong will always interesting, people, food, transportation, old town, and many more will always be awesome things that you don’t want to miss. Hey….you might consider too about my past hotel review in Maldives, yes it is so true I’ve been there twice and got a hidden paradise that I never seen before, you may read my review about luxury 5 star resort called Lux* and Angsana Velavaru. I know I’m just lucky poor guy that able to explore this world through my work in destination wedding photography but so far I truly enjoy my work and my life. After trying so many hotels, resort, bed and breakfast accommodation I think I just want to share the experience that I’ve got from my journey so any of you can get the recommendation about it. Yeah I could say sometimes it is good and some times I also feel so bad about my accommodation, but this is life, this is the point why we travel right?
From the real authentic Hong Kong local food, Turkish food, Chinese food, Thai Food, or even the paradise of 7 Eleven…yes you can find it easily
Back to my journey in Hong Kong past few years and actually this is the second I come to this ‘dim sum country” and still want back here again and again. At this time I came to Hong Kong on February and for typical Asian traveler like me get a 10 degree Celcius is enough to make me freezing but it was so comfort visiting Hong Kong during winter. I suddenly found this cheap hotel around Tsim Sha Tsui actually, in the east, of it but still located in middle of tons of people and good food. This hotel named is Marrigold Hostel, and first impression that I can say to you about Marrigold is……this is SO CHEAP! I see around and found the 7 eleven, Kowloon Mosque, MTR Station just few meters and many more awesome things that I need as a budget traveler.
Let me tell you few things about this cheap-magnificent hotel….
It is Sooooo Cheap!!!
Yeah Marrigold is so cheap and with only few bucks I can lay down my back, sleep like a baby and get up like a warrior, quite enough to fulfill my fit and continue exploring Hong Kong. On my past trip I spend below than USD45/night for both of me and my wife in room which is have a window, private bathroom and toilet, small fridge, aircond, TV, hair dryer, and more….still want to say that this hostel not worth it…so proof it by your self and I already tell you the facilities right!
Tons of Delicious Food Surrounding
Lets name it, fried tofu, chicken noodle, baby octopus satay, dim sum, pork buns, and many kind of food that will fulfil your hunger is already set for you here. Within jut few steps you can find snacks and food, period! From the real authentic Hong Kong local food, Turkish food, Chinese food, Thai Food, or even the paradise of 7 Eleven…yes you can find it easily.
You can jump to the MTR Station
Yes if you can jump for 20 meter than you can reach the MTR Station in front of your hotel, is it good? Yeahh!!!!! Marrigold is located in a old apartment building name Chung King Mansion and once you come out you can see the East Tsim Sha Shui MTR Station just in front of you, so easy…super nice and very good place to stay.
Achievable with 1 time bus ride from the Airport
Huff…I just don’t know why you still read my review rather than book Marrigold Hostel? this accommodation is so good even you can reach it by bus and the bus stop is only 10 meter from Chung King Mansion entrance
15 Minutes Walk to Avenue of Star
Is this one of tourist attraction that you want to see in Hong Kong? yes Avenue of Star a place where the hand stamp of celebrity located and where the awesome Guinness Record Symphony of Light perform every single night. Just go out from your hotel and turn left than walk a few meter than you can see all of those things that I mentioned before.

Twice to go to Hong Kong and stay in 3 different budget hotels I still recommend Marrigold to be your best choice, yeah nothing worry come even I stay again in my next trip to Hong Kong. One important thing is just because I love food (and this hotel area give it to me), I love to travel by public transport (and bus stop and MTR Station is in front of me), and I still can back to Airport with a cheap-comfort bus within 45 minutes…oh my God why you don’t give me this information from few years ago.
Finally I still have a review about hotels in Hong Kong in the next review hope you don’t mind and still enjoy to read on my blog and visiting again and again so that we become a friend. Please let me know if you already book Marrigold or get any more better hotel to stay so please let me know so I can try it in my next trip, yeah I don’t mind to try different hotels just to know how is the feeling to stay there.
