What is Stock Photography
Stock photography is kind of photos that use by agency, mass media, or even a blogger. If one of a company want to deliver good information to their fans or reader than they might need photos or videos and here is where your money come from.
Now lets imagine! If there is a blogger or news maker who want to describe more about Shark conservatory but they don’t wanna go to Conservatorium to reduce their budget or don’t have much time for it, so what they must do?
Exactly, they must buy a photos or videos legally so they can put it on their blog post or magazine. And where they have to looking for the photos? yess….they really need a person like you, a person who take a photos about Shark and this is what happen to my self.
See this pictures below,
I went to Singapore last March with family and asking all the kids to visiting Sea Aquarium in Sentosa resort world. There is a glass tunnel where I can see all the fish, turtle, even shark swim above me and at the end of the tunnel there is a giant hole where people can swim in a cage and see directly how the guard feed the shark.
I don’t have much time to open my bag and pick up my Fujifilm XT-3 so what I did is pick up my phone (I used an old iPhone 5 by the way) and capture the shark moment above my head. If you see my shark tank photo above than you will know that I don’t even use any post production work by Photoshop or Lightroom and directly upload that photo on my Shutterstock account.
Voila…..I got a buyer who pay me $0.25 from an ugly Shark tank photo that I took in Singapore and this is how the money come from. If I can earn money by using an old iPhone 5, you may have a better iphone than me like iPhone 5S, iPhone 6 with 64GB, or even the rose gold of iPhone 7 than I sure that you are able to earn money too.

3 – Make Great Description and Keywords
The success key of selling photos online are make a great photo description and put the right keywords (50 max keyword for each photos but I used to put 40).
If you are taking photos of an object that have a company logo than simply set it as an editorials which is mean this photos only able to use for non-commercial only but if there is no logo or company brand than you can set your photos as a commercial.
On my daughter’s bike, I sure that there is a logo from the bike company so if I set those photo into commercial than it must be rejected. So what I did on it is set as an editorial. If you set your photos as an editorial than you must provide a description in more detail, you must tell where and when this photo taken (see the editorial example from my daughter’s bike photo)
