I’m not quite sure that you ever think to visit this awesome city during your holiday in Indonesia. A city where so close to Yogyakarta and has their own International Airport which connect directly to Singapore and Kuala Lumpur and this city’s name is Solo or Surakarta. From Singapore or Kuala Lumpur you can catch a flight directly to Solo and I think the Air Asia is the only airlines which is has direct flight to Solo. Even though you also can landed in Adisucipto International Airport and taking the Prambanan Express Train (Prameks) from the airport. Just within an hour you will be stop in the magnificent and peaceful city where so many cheap street food come from. I often to go to Solo actually, and one of the important thing is almost all hotels, means 4 to 5 star hotels in Solo is SO CHEAP! Rather than you have to spend around USD90-100 for 5 star luxury hotels in Yogayakarta, here in Solo you can got the 5 start luxury hotels with only USD30 in your pocket, interesting…ouch before I’m forget your USD30 is already include full service of breakfast where the omelet, sausages, slice of beef, pancake, and tons of fresh milk waiting for you.

I will share one of my favorite hotel that I often stay there just to take my kids swimming, yeah why I should spend USD2/pax swimming in Yogyakarta but here in Solo I can take my kids and my wife staying for 1 night in 5 star hotel and swimming till drop…yeaahhhh this is my favorite and cheap holiday. Lorin Hotel Solo located not so far from the city center, it might be only 3-4 km from it but you can take a taxi or rent a scooter or car during in Solo.

The hotels is so huge, consisting a hundreds of cheap luxury rooms, swimming pool, bars, and large garden. Staffs are so friendly, food is delicious and you can spend over and over for taking your breakfast nearby the koi fish pond. Room is quite and enough for me, wife and 2 kids. I really recommend you to go to Solo and enjoy the city, when the sun goes down, don’t forget to hunting for street food, you can eat like locals in a ‘Hek’ a milk corner under the brand ‘Susu Shi Jack’ and eat so many cheap food like rice-fish, rice-tempe, meatball, tofu and everything you need to fulfill your hunger no more than USD3/pax, I guarantee that you can’t afford more than USD3, cheap right yeah this just like paradise!!!.

After all I really recommend you to go to Solo and stay 1 or couple nights in Lorin Hotel Solo and enjoy the magnificent services of this hotel. Again and again Agoda.com still give me the best rate to go to Lorin and so much easy to use it everytime…everywhere.
