I went to Hong Kong to do woman portrait session during past winter, it is Herlin, a gorgeous and beautiful woman that I ever know. Back couple months ago I receiving a whatsapp message on my phone that coming from Aling, who asking me to go fly to Hong Kong to portrait of a lady session and Herlin is one of them lately I know I met one of gorgeous woman on earth.
Weather was really nice with a bit windy at night and it decrease the city temperature from 15 into 10 degree Celsius. Herlin is staying in Jakarta Indonesia and she goes to Hong Kong with other 3 women. A day before the woman portrait session I visit Herlin in her hotel near Central Pier, Four Season Hong Kong, a really nice hotel that you are able to sightseeing around the city easily cause it located in the very strategic location. We did a short discussion and I share some pictures of Hong Kong that I took in the afternoon so we have a good preparation for tomorrow photo shoot. I leave the Four Season at 10pm and hurry to catch up my last MTR to go to Kowloon to got some rest.
Woman Portrait in Hong Kong
If someday you want to go to Hong Kong to some woman portrait session than I surely suggest that going there during winter, spring, or autumn will be the best period. By the way I was in Hong Kong during summer few years ago and it goes so hot, having a photo shoot isn’t easy cause you will bring some wardrobe and accessories and get a nice weather is one good point.
Here I shooting woman portrait for about 10 hours, so we leave the Four Season at 9 am and go to Chun Yeung Street (Wet Market), Wong Tai Sin Temple, Canton Road, Causeway Bay, and finished at Victoria Harbour. So 6 spots within a day is really hectic but you will get the whole Hong Kong impression in those area for sure.
6 am in the morning and my alarm was ringing, I woke up in super cold weather, but I try to open up my hotel’s window just to figure out how is the situation today. Hong Kong this morning was super cloudy and I’m pretty sure it will be long day, so challenging! In some part cloudy can make the pictures smooth in the face and feel a bit sexy, I don’t really care about the weather as long as I got no rain so I can do woman portrait session with Herlin and her friends as well.
I catch my MTR train at 7.30 to go to Central and walk down for about 10 minutes to Four Season. Our Vellfire car is stand by in front of the hotel and I met really nice driver named Simon, thanks to him for sure cause he helps us a lot, showing the best route to go to the location and show us the best authentic Hong Kong local restaurant for our lunch break.
Our car drive smoothly to the 1st location near the North Point, the Chun Yeung Street Market (Wet Market) and it was super fantastic. This area is a complex of local market where all the locals walking down to the market and buy some groceries, fruits, meats and herbs. For sure we have to stop photo shoot for few second cause the old tram is horn us with their old traditional bell, it was truly Hong Kong atmosphere that I really want to get. Spend for almost 2 hours in this market make us feel hungry than we ask Simon to go to local and authentic restaurant that I sure only people of Hong Kong know about it. The restaurant is located in the 2nd floor where they put fish market in 1st floor, almost all the food are written in Cantonese and it was really great experience that I ever get in Hong Kong.
