If you planing for having destination wedding or getting married at outside of your living area than you are awesome couple, in fact there are over than 16 billion dollar a year that people spend for this new wedding era that bring newly wedding couple doing wedding and vacation at the same time. By the way in this story I’m gonna tell you how I met great couple in the past 10 years who put trust on my expertise of shooting wedding, how the idea come and how they did it so great!
I live in Yogyakarta city right now, great place to stay and take care my kids while go to the school or doing their homework. I fly to Bali so often for shooting wedding and that’s why I met hundred of couple from this entire planet who coming from Perth, Melbourne, Germany, Singapore, and Japan.
How the Destination Wedding Idea Come at the First Time
Generally my previous couple want to get married in Bali because this city get well experience of hosting over than 7,000 wedding a year, here they provide good wedding planner, luxury resort and surely the magnificent view that will take your wedding into the next level. So the idea is just come when they want to get away from their daily routine and find a relax time to say the vow and inviting the closest family member and friends to chill out together.
Rather than doing wedding only, than those couple thinking about how to combine both even formal (wedding) and non formal (honeymoon) at the same time and the same place, than the new wedding tradition of destination wedding just come.

Lil’ memories photo of me, Nina, and hundred of cute pigeon that you see above is when I fly to Singapore for having lunch meeting with my couple who gonna get married in Bali. Hell yeah! I do both kind of meeting offline and online depend on my client, sometimes I use skype or whatsapp video call but when it comes more private than I have to go to some other beautiful place to meet my couple.
Honestly I love to meet my couple in person since it brings us to know each other before meet on the wedding day, even I can’t doubt anymore if distance become matter than online meeting will the best solution.

How My Couple Prepare Their Destination Wedding Properly
As a photographer I used to receive an enquiry email 5 to 7 months before the wedding and it seems to be enough cause I know that every couple will keep browsing and looking for the right photographer for their big day till they find the best one.
If you think for having destination wedding too than let me share for what my couple did before it.
1 – Choosing the Destinations That You Dreaming For
There are hundred of world best wedding destination that you could know, here we talk about Jamaica, Udaipur in India, Los Cabos in Mexico, till Bali and Maldives. The easiest way to do this is by discuss together with your fiancee and family, surely your mom and day cause they must have relatives that they expecting to come.

2 – Set Up Your Budget
Having destination wedding is not that expensive even it depend on how much money do you have but the fun fact is, some of my couple choose destination wedding better than local wedding because they can save more budget. Now I’m gonna give you some information about celebrating wedding in Cipriani, NYC.
If you wondering for having wedding in this favourite venue than you might thinking about US$350/person for average and make sure you will add around 24% tax for the booking. If you do local wedding than usually you will invite more people to come or even you gonna feel so bad if you’re not inviting some family or friends that live around that place, so if you gonna invite 200 guests to your wedding than you will spend US$86,000 at minimum.
With that budget you can celebrate extremely private wedding which attended only by closest family member and friends in such beautiful place like Jamaica and bla-bla-bla that I mentioned before….Oh yes! surely you can maintain lower than US$86,000 for your big day cause the world average cost for destination wedding preparation which inviting up to 50 people is only around US$25,000 to US$35,000, what a brilliant idea!
Due to this situation, my couple Josh and Renee who coming from Perth only inviting around 35 people to come to Bali and celebrate their wedding in a rock and roll way!

3 – Choose the Right Wedding Vendor
Having the local wedding vendor is the most reliable thing that you can consider, the great news is when you book a hotel or resort than they will provide a whole set wedding planner too and they gonna arrange from A to Z, from your flower bouquet till your tasty fine dining. From these whole set wedding, there are few person that you can invite in person and come from other country, there are Photographer – Videographer and Celebrant that common for Australian Wedding.
