Having a destination photo session is quite challenging, cause you have to prepare more rather than only get pre wedding just nearby your home. One thing that might be sure is some of your budget might be increasing but by choosing destination wedding, you’re not only got timeless memories but also the experience.

7 Items That Will Impact to Your Pre Wedding Photography Cost
By the way I’ve been twice serving destination pre wedding photography in Maldives, I was being booked by two international couple who coming from Hong Kong and Singapore. By serving these 2 citizenship I think I’ve got a nice information that I could tell you for preparing your photo shoot.
Flights
Don’t worry about the flights cause a lot of option to go Maldives every day, you can fly in Business Class with Cathay or SQ or even you can fly with super budget seat provide by Air Asia or something else.
Due to 10 years in destination wedding photography I used to get the best flight rates after comparing with some website. I will try to make an example by departing from Singapore just like I get used to by using jetradar after all I suggest you to book immediately once you got the best one.
RESULT – Here you got a nice price of US$682 for 2 people departing Changi to Male (round trip ticket) where you will fly to Maldives by Scoot, it’s a budget airlines but still feel comfort as well. When you want to browse more for another date than you can use jetradar to find the best deal.
Resort
Item number 2 that you must consider to calculate your pre wedding photography cost is finding the best resort. My personal opinion said that choosing only the luxury and 5 star resort is the clue for having unforgettable photo session.
I personally use Booking.com to find the best resort in Maldives, by the way they come with great booking feature where we can pay later or free cancellation fee which is good when you want to change your accommodation.
Here I would like to make an example for you by staying in Veligandu Island Resort and Spa, surely I want you to stay in Water Villa room where you can see the ocean once you open your eyes in the morning.
RESULT – Here you got limited price of US$2,288 for 2 people staying in water villa in 4 nights. As you see above this price is including your breakfast, lunch, and dinner…seems to be great right! So I recommend you to book immediately through Booking.com
Resort Transfer
Due to Veligandu requirements, you must pay an additional seaplane double propeller to go the resort where transfer time will be from 6 am to 3 pm. If you landed after the transfer time I suggest you to go to Male City by speedboat and find transit hotel, my recommendation is Lucky Hiya
Please note that every resort have their own condition about the resort transfer
RESULT – To go the resort than you must pay US$320/pax or US$640 for two people round trip all tax inclusive.
Things to Bring
Maldives is special destination that you must enjoy, make sure you bring your snorkel set and swimming fins on your suitcase cause you definitely must get sweat once you touch down on the resort.
Enjoy your day by seeing the baby shark feeding around 5 pm every day, here the hotel staff will throwing some meat to the water and within 5 minutes the baby shark will coming in and you know what, this show is totally free for everyone.

One sad thing that I have to tell you about Maldives is, it was REALLY HOT out there! So when I was there for photo shooting than my skin get burn for just an hour, it is totally hot and you can proof yourself once you arrive there. The two things that I don’t wanna you to forget is your sunscreen lotion and sun glasses!

RESULT – I wondering that you already have several travel items but in case you will be in 1st time in Maldives and you guys so excited for what you gonna have on your journey than you will buy some travel accessories through Amazon and you simply spend about US$200 for all of things
Meal
When I got my client meeting through Skype just couple of weeks before me and my couple go to Maldives suddenly we laugh together cause all of us are telling each other if we bring our instant noodle.
We know as well that we gonna enjoy some biryani rice in Male City or simply buy a large Hawaiian pizza but having our local meals is still matters.
Nina my wife is taking a picture of some room service menu from our resort in Lux* South Ari Atoll and commonly it costs around US$30-50 for meal, it seems expensive if are in our hometown but it’s a common thing for luxury or 5 star resort.

RESULT – All your meal’s cost is depend on you but let say you will spend around US$500 just for extra meal cause your breakfast, lunch, and dinner are provided by the Veligandu Resort
Travel Insurance
I wish you always be healthy wherever you are but in case you got the same problem just like me, so you definitely need a Travel Insurance.
Back in 2015 when I serve pre wedding photo shot for my Singaporean couple in Angsana Velavaru, suddenly I’ve got some fever lately I knew that it is chicken pox. It’s a common disease in my country where I can simply go to the doctor and get a cheap medicine for less than US$10.
But all happens in extremely different situation where I should go to the hospital in the midnight and the general doctor check my health and give me a medicine for almost US$180 which is a common situation if you going somewhere and you don’t have any permanent resident permit.
When I came back to Indonesia and talk about it to my best friend who love travel so much than he told me about a great online travel insurance.

Pre Wedding Photography Cost
I’m gonna tell you something about my past couple from Hong Kong named Billy and Dickie Ma, they told me that they know Maldives 10 years before meet me and they work so hard to save the money till finally they met me in for having a pre wedding in Lux*.
My first meeting with Billy was so fast cause he already book the resort but don’t get the deal with any photographers. Suddenly he booked me just 2 months before the shooting day and we simply flew from different direction.
Surely Billy flew from Hong Kong and I flew from Singapore than we just meet each other in his super comfort water villa room.
For me asking about photography cost is way more personal and that will be some ethic about it. I working only with couple who put their trust on me so we’re not only become client and professional but it grows up into friendship.
