Getting married in Bali or in some other beach paradise like Maldives is a dream for couple who love natures so much, I live in Yogyakarta which is only 1 hour flight from Bali so I regularly went there for engagement or wedding shooting.
Getting Married in Bali
Once you decide to get married in Bali than you can looking for the details about Indonesia immigration, some of countries like Southeast Asia are free to come but some other will need to pay for couple of bucks (mostly US$25).
Legally married in Bali is pretty simple and they have a regulation where foreigners are able to get married and bring back home their marriage license. When you decide to say the vow in Bali than first thing first that you should consider is having your celebrant.
Than you should consider about these 6 things such as:
- 6 month valid passport
- copy of decree absolute if you got divorce before
- copy of death certificate of former spouse if applicable
- copy of documentary evidence of any change of name
- birth certificate,
- and pay around US$100 in Indonesian rupiah to the embassy
The next step that you need to do is finding the best resort and hotels for your marriage. Generally you can browse hundred of hotels in Bali cause this city never stop build something no matter when I went there, some part are dusty but other are come with incredible view!

What Things That I Suggest You to Don’t Miss When Go to Bali
At least you only go to Bali but it is good to know that Bali has its own rival so Bali and Lombok Lonely Planet is one good book that you should have on your home.

Finding Your Wedding Photographer
There are hundred of photographer in Bali that you can book but when you love my works that I will fly to Bali cause I did it too regularly. Wedding photography is not only taking pictures but also capturing the moments which is more important than others.
So many photographer even allow you with a discount or make a simple package that coming with file only on the 16GB USB but you definitely can’t find it on my studio. If you are a person that always focusing on your goals than wedding photography will not REAL till you have your own prints.
A beautiful wedding book is truly important, you can touch the textured paper or even you still can smell the ink for several years after the wedding and throwing back your moments by open every single sheet on that book. Here in my studio I also provide a book for parents so even you and your partner live separately but your parents are still able to see your wedding photos.

Jasmine and Arthur Wedding
I shooting for Jasmine and Arthur wedding back few years ago and we just meet each other in Conrad Nusadua, they have beautiful triangle chapel with an ocean view so when you do blessing here and you got stunning scenery too.
Way to go to Nusadua seem to be crowded so tell your friends or family who not stay in this hotel to go earlier at least 1,5 hour before the blessing ceremony.
Just nearby the chapel there are a grass field with an ocean view where you can celebrate your wedding with a night party and dinner. It will be so windy but an outdoor wedding will be awesome in Bali.
Danilo and Eka Wedding
My next wedding was taken in The Sanctus Uluwatu Villa, so you can drive your car to go to Uluwatu Highland just about 1,5 hours driving and you will see beautiful villa with an infinity pool where every body can chill out till night.
The Sanctus is huge villa even you can provide wedding for hundred of guest, rather than Conrad who got a beach-front view but The Sanctus is coming up with cliff-front view and the sunset here was super wonderful.
My Other Wedding Shooting in Bali
When you heard about Ayana Resort you also will thinking to spend your beautiful sunset time in The Rock Bar, a lovely place where you can sit in a magnificent bar and cafe with sea-front view. Enjoying the wind blows through your hair and drink your Caipiroska will be the best experience where you can find in this resort.
The room was so big and really well prepare to get your preparation before marriage such as make up, hair do, even you still can see your dad having his cigar and watching football game. Ayana has really beautiful chapel for the ceremony, a bit small but you can invite 30-40 people to go inside but you can see the beautiful sea scenery directly from the chapel.
After the ceremony you can follow your photographer to get your after wedding shots for 1 hour while your family enjoying their cocktail.
In this resort you able to choose where your wedding party will placed, it is indoor mean the hotel will provide you with a lovely room where you can enjoy your dinner or set it outdoor with magnificent sea view and let your friend dance and singing till night. – You may see my works in Ayana Resort here!
Patra Hotel Kuta is the right place where you want to celebrate your wedding nearby the city, even you want to celebrate your wedding in a gudget by staying in other villa and just go the hotel for the party. Patra Hotel is the best place that you can consider.
When I shooting in Patra hotel for the ceremony, it will set in a beach-front so the ceremony will be so much fun even you can still cry when your fiancee say the vow. Dinner party will located in the beach-front too with a hanging lamp and magnificent music from the local musician, this ambiance will make your night perfect! – You can see my works in Patra Hotel here!

Spend in Ubud if you expecting more peaceful place but don’t be surprise if there is no sound after 6 pm, it was so quite and great for honeymoon. Food and culture in Bali were extraordinary even I love it so much, here you can sightseeing around the traditional market where the locals is begin their daily life at 6 am.
