This new tradition or marriage has been begin since 2000, it is pre wedding photoshoot that used to be common for Asian couple. Generally pre wedding is simply a photo session that help before the wedding and since 2008 I working so hard through my photography passion to serve worldwide couple who expecting some photo session before their big day.

To help my couple preparing their photo session I develop this blog since 2010 and write all my journey, behind the scene till the final result of the wedding photographs.

Pre Wedding Photoshoot Preparation
All this preparation is begin once I receive an email on my contact page, there are some forms that my couple need to fulfill and describe their dreams of photoshoot to me. I need a bit detail information such as name, pre wedding photoshoot date and venue (it is really important to check my availability), and for sure the messages.

Majority of my couple are preparing their pre wedding photoshoot since 12 months before even I ever receive an enquiry to come to Hong Kong for photoshoot just within 1 month. There are several steps that I recommend you to follow before having your pre wedding photoshoot, such as:
1 – Looking for Photographer and Check the Availability
As a photographer I could say that I work regularly both in pre wedding, wedding till the family portrait so it can be every single month I travel for this business and in some case I still need to spend a family time with my wife and kids. Due to this tight schedule I need to check my whole schedule so I can set where your request should belong to.
That’s why I suggest you to looking for your wedding photographer at least 3 to 6 months before the day it will works so great both for you as the couple and him as the services provider.
2 – Asking the Packages
Every photographer including me has different photography packages so asking the full packages and offer is really matter to figure out which package that suitable on your needs.
Here in my studio I always bundle all my works with an album cause it really matters for the final result. For me as the photographer album will belong to my legacy but for you as the couple album is way than just printing paper but this gonna be your love story and art masterpiece of your romantic journey with someone who you loved.
3 – Choosing the Best Pre Wedding Photoshoot Packages
Once you receive an enquiry than ask your fiancee or boy friend to choose the best pre wedding photoshoot packages due to your needs. By the way I have a couple that only need me to shoot on their pre wedding but there are also couple who ask me to shoot both on their pre wedding and wedding where it takes in different time and location for sure.
Choosing packages which is bundled between pre wedding and wedding is one good decision cause once you done with this than you don’t need to worry about your documentation plan. 4 – Meet Your Photographer
There are several ways that you can do meeting with your photographer, there you can visit his studio, get lunch together (I did it when my bride asking me to come to Singapore back few years ago), or simply with Skype meeting (I also did this to meet my couple who located far away from my studio).
Get personal meeting is really matters and better for you to use video meeting provider no matter it is a whatsapp video call or skype, all you need to prepare is just your high speed internet connection.
Get to know personally between you and your photographer is really matters cause here you will meet a new friend who belong to your eye witness of your big day. Make sure that he knows for what you need and he can give you with some suggestion before the photoshoot related to gown, pose, make up, etc
5 – Set Your Venue
Generally there are 2 kind of venue that you can use for pre wedding photoshoot, whole country exploration and resort exploration. If you wiling to do photo session in such beautiful country like France than you can sightseeing around the country but if you willing to do photo session in such special place like Santorini than book your hotel and resort will matters so much.
Country exploration much more flexible cause all you need to do is just choosing the country and book the hotel where you want to stopping by. If you gonna do this than book your hotel through booking.com is one good choice due to their feature and flexibilities facilities.
6 – Get Your Bridal and Gown
When you have 2 days of session than will be great if you can afford at least 3 set of gown and bridal and 2 casual clothes but if you only choose short session for 1 day (mine used to be in 6 hours) than 2 gowns (bridal and night gown) and 1 casual set is enough.
It is really important for you to have your wardrobe and having your own designer will be great. Please remind that better for you to fit your gown at 1 week before the pre wedding photoshoot so it will fit well on your body.
7 – Get Your Make Up and Hair Do
Searching for local make up and hair do is really matter for your pre wedding, in some case you may ask your photographer about their services of make up and hair do. Here in my studio I working with my wife who belong to my assistant and make up – hair do artist so it gonna be more efficient both for me and my couple. My wife will touch up for whole day so our couple don’t need to worry about their beauty during the photo session.

Once you get done with all the preparation mean you are more than ready to do your pre wedding photoshoot, take care of your health and diet so you can do this session as better as your plan.
