Bride and groom portraits session, I’m so excited about it and used to do this session following the wedding ceremony. Hi beautiful bride my name is Bima and thank you for visiting photography blog and keep in touch with me during this time. Still in wedding workflow stories than today I wanna share to you about how the bride and groom portrait session gonna be. If you read my previous story than you also can learn more about having family photoshoot plan, those I share about who gonna be your lists, how to do it and how it looks like.
Best Time for Having Bride and Groom Portraits Session
Now lets back to our main topic, if you expecting about this session even I know that you must want it than the best time for doing this is after the wedding ceremony. If you say the vow in the church than lets get walk sightseeing around your city and find great place to shoot. I will shoot on your expression and mood properly while we walking and sometimes stop for little ice latte in a cool café than I can take few shots in it.
If your wedding ceremony held in a nice beautiful ocean-front chapel than I sure that we’re not going anywhere and just move around the chapel and resorts. If your resort is not that big than we can walk but if it’s large resort like what I had in Bali and Maldives than asking the hotel staff and hiring the buggy will be the best option, surely I’m not going to make you too tired before your wedding party.
How It Looks Like
When I doing this session than my shooter will accompany me, first thing first that you should know is I’m the only one who gonna shoot so my shooter or used to be my wife, Nina, will help me to bring my photography gears, camera bag, 70-200 mm f2.8 lens or some other amazing lenses.
I sure that you gonna take a photo right in front of your chapel and lets do that for the first time. After that we could walk for a while and find some nice background, it could be the ocean, mountain, lake, or any beautiful landscape that will blown your mind away in the few decades. But as I said before, if your ceremony held in town church than lets take a photo right in front of it.
Buildings, commercial shops, and cafes are some cool options that gonna be our spots, lets chill out with the ambiance and you gonna got your best bride and groom portraits photos.
My Suggestions for this Beautiful Session
Generally, I need 1 to 1,5 hour to do this session but I will entertain you os it gonna be fun and fast. Don’t worry, the hotel or wedding hall officiant will give your family and close friends relax time and and fresh cocktail so they not waiting for you in a long time. These are some suggestions for you:
- Bring your veil and flower bouquet
- Don’t be too rush and panic cause your officiant will work so great for your party
- If you have you have a favorite location nearby your chapel than tell me about it
- Stay relax cause your mood will affected so much with the final photo result
My Last Word for You
I know that we could improvise this session cause we’re not set everything as we want, back few years ago I shoot a wedding in a busy crazy city in Grand Hyatt Jakarta which I 100% can not sight seeing around the city for the bride and groom portraits session. What I did with my couple is finding the best small spots in the hotel and voila we got a nice area in front of the wedding hall, it’s like small area with wooden parquet with a nice high-rise building….and yes we made it!
So what I’m going to tell you is there’s always a way to make a good portrait session for both of you!
I hope you get inspirations about what I share today and truly honor for me if someday I could be your eye witness on your glorious day.
