11 Tasty Food That You Must Eat in Hong Kong During Honeymoon
When you want to visit Hong Kong for holiday or getting honeymoon following your wedding than using public transportation like subway, tram, or ferry are the best option that you can choose. In fact, Hong Kong transportation system are really good and easy to ride by everyone even for the first time. Having twice to go to this country (summer and winter) than I could tell you that winter will be better, weather is so nice so we wouldn’t get sweat during the whole day. Just make sure that you drink a lot of water even you’re not getting sweat during winter or bring your portable bottle for traveling on your backpack.
Why MTR Hong Kong is So Comfort to Ride
I love to ride with a subway system cause it is fast, clean, and able to reach almost every single corner of this country and if we talk about riding the MTR Hong Kong so it is similar with the Singapore subway called the MRT (yes you only move the T and R). If Singapore has an EZ Link card than Hong Kong also got this card too which is known as the Octopus Card and you able to it on the Airport.
All you need to do is just tapping your card on the machine and your balance will reduced automatically, super simple!
Here on this trip I stay in a Marrigold Hostel that located in a superb location, 7 eleven, food stall, drug store, mosque, and even MTR station is just in a walking distance, you could check my review about this nice hostel on that link. As I said before that by staying in Marrigold I could walk for just 70 meter to go to MTR Hong Kong station even I can see the signage directly when I walk out from the hostel-apartment building.
Overall I love this MTR because of 3 (three) reasons:
- FAST – I go to every single corner of this country from the North Point to get a joyful old tram ride experience till walk in the busiest district of Hong Kong called Causeway Bay and everything is looks so perfect and fast. There is an elevator too when you travel with someone who need special treatment and surely great maintenance of escalator for everyone.
- FEELS LIKE LOCALS – Most of Hong Kong citizens love this subway system better than bus, taxi, or ferry especially they who gonna go to office or having some business meeting. I met students who going to the school till an old lady with a vegetables basket on her hand after go to some groceries or traditional market.
- EASY – Again and again this system is super easy for everyone so you don’t need to be worry about how to use it.

Moving Out from the Airport to the City
There are few ways to moving out from the airport to go to the city, the easiest one is by using Airport Express which if you buy the return ticket at the same time that you will get few dollars of discount. Surely you also can take taxi too but if you got no rush time than my favourite one is by using a bus, you could ask your hotel staff or read your hotel booking itinerary cause they might give some option to go to hotel by bus.
After this I’m gonna give you some destinations sample and using the MTR to sightseeing around, now I’m gonna imagine that you gonna stay at the same hotel like me, in a Marrigold Hostel on East Tsim Sha Tsui (Tseung Kwan O Line – Purple Line)

From Hotel to North Point for Enjoying Old Tram Ride
One of the best part about visiting Hong Kong is trying the old tram ride from North Point, no matter where you go than the admission is flat for HKD2. When I was there I go to North Point, enjoying the morning scene of Chun Yeung Street Wet Market than take the tram to Causeway Bay and this is how to go to North Point by using MTR:
- Go to East Tsim Sha Tsui MTR station (Tseung Kwan O Line – Purple Line) and change your platform into Tsim Sha Tsui (Tsuen Wan – Red Line)
- Take the train to Hong Kong station but stop at Admiralty interchange station
- Change your train platform into Island Line – Blue Line
- Take a train to Chai Wan but stop at North Point, you gonna pass Wan Chai, Causeway Bay, Tin Hau, and Fortress Hill
- Than take the exit way to go out
